The author, formerly Historian General of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, draws on her own childhood memories to paint a vivid word picture of antebellum plantation life, focusing on the amiable relations that once existed between White and Black and discussing the dramatic changes in Southern culture brought about by the War Between the States.

A purer tribute is available, as found in the Chronicle of Fortingall. It was the lament for Alasdair MacGregor of Glenstrae, the chief of the Clan, who was executed at Edinburg in 1604, along with 25 other MacGregors, after being betrayed by Archibad Campbel.

Did you know that 80% of the US Confederate Southerners were Celtic (Scots-Irish)?

The Yankee North were successors of the British corruption that the Celts had bravely struggled against and were enslaved under. Many of which (like MacGregors) were deported to the South.

Celtic Press History

Restoration Ministries had been active with E Raymond Capt and other Scholars, hosting and co-hosting their seminars, and distributing books from the 1980s. In 2000 Dr Stephen M B Knott was made Editor of the Ministry Newsletter. Dr Knott was appointed manager of the Celts Roots bookshop in 2003 (a business of Dr Warren Johnson). 

We owe a debt of gratitude to Dr Johnson and E. Raymond Capt M.A. A.I.A. F.S.A. SCOT. (Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland etc) for their hard work, coaching and inspiration during our founding years. Since then numerous festivals have enjoyed this genre of Celtic books.
